This book in English contains 30 plants that appear in as many works of art at the Museo del Prado. It is a publication that compiles the texts from the labels of the 26 works that participated in the exhibition held between October 2024 and March 2025, “A botanical stroll through the Prado”.

In addition to these plants from the botanical tour, four more species are added in these pages, which complete a selection that shows how botany can tell us mythological, religious, noble or traditional aspects of the work of art. Thus, all this flora adds another layer of knowledge and enjoyment to what is observed.

The book is magnificently illustrated by Juan Luis Castillo, and can be purchased in bookstores and in the Museo del Prado store itself. This small-format publication is full of beautiful details for any lover of plants and art.
